Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Impressive I just got back from visiting my sister, who has a Sonos system which sounded great. So I wanted to purchase a system for my home. I went on line and was surprised to find that Sonos was not blue tooth capable nor could you hard wire your music to these speakers. I searched for other options and found the HEOS speakers by Denon, I knew Denon from my youth and loved their quality then and with the speakers being wi-fi, Bluetooth and hard wire capable, I decided to give them a shot. I was not disappointed at all, the speakers were easy to setup are easy to use with my I-pad and sound great !!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good but missing key functionality.... Sounds quality is really good for the size of the speaker, however for me the biggest drawback is the lack of Apple music support, this is heavily restrictive for me as the majority of the Music I own was purchased via iTunes.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Abismal software and app I must first say the speaker itself for its size produces great sound. However this is pretty much where to good news stops and its positives are irrelevant when its a nightmare if not impossible to get the desired sound to the speaker! I purchased the HEOS 1 as an experiment to see how good the overall system is before speaker on anything more expensive, in short the usability of the system is extremely limited and has not progressed in the months I've own it. If Denon ever becoms serious about streaming then I will come back and look at buying additional units and the big brother/sister units but for my HEOS 1 will gather dust quietly (literally) on the shelf. This product line has great potential but the software (app) is decades behind where it needs to be and not very reliable for the limited functionality it has. For me I should be able to stream any audio source from any app on my phone or computer directly to the HEOS speaker(s) I should not have to use the HEOS App or be restricted to what it allows. EG, I'm sitting on my back porch watching a show or a football game on my iPhone or computer etc. I should be able to directly stream the audio from that to the speakers, but nope not a chance! Sure I can ad hoc an apple tv or an airport express but why should I havre to do that having purchased "wireless speakers" its farcical. Right now all you can do is send audio from the very limited "approved" streams in the app which are all audio providers only. In summary I would stay away for spend any amounts of money on these unless you sole intent is to steam radio from the limited providers it acknowledges it supports. For me this product fails in all aspects us usability sad functionality.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome speaker! I've had this for a few months now. Received for Christmas from my wife. Love the sound. Love how it connects to my wifi. Only thing is AirPlay from Apple. If it had that I'd say 5 stars. I found that I can open Bluetooth and connect that way but I can't stream from an Apple device. Also, I chose this over Sonos for the connecting possibilities. USB, Bluetooth, 3.5 mm connection, wifi, lots of streaming options, and battery power to boot. Awesome little speaker

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sound! I received this as a gift so I was eager to try it out. After taking it out of the box I immediately got started. I found the instructions online easily enough and downloaded the app. Installation took about 10 mins -which is pretty good because I am not the most technology savvy person. I have to admit, this speaker has a great sound. Comparing it to the sound bar in my living room, the sound has a depth and clarity that I wasn't expecting. If this had Bluetooth it would be perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A small speaker with a big sound! Clear crisp sound. Much better than my other wireless speakers. Sleek modern design that will look great in any room in the house. Perfect for moving from room to room. Can't wait to use it on my deck. The set up could not have been easier. Download the app and follow the instructions and you're done! I like that all the music apps can be played from the HEOS app.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome little speaker I love this speaker. It puts out tons of sound for its size and it looks great. Setup was dead simple, connect your phone via the included cable, download the app, enter your password and that's it! I also can't say enough about the Heos app, playing a favorite Pandora station as well as navigating my music library is quick and simple. 5 stars!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It sounds great and the software is excellent. Got the first Heos1 for free as part of buying a Denon 4300. After listening to the sound quality on the first speaker and using the app. I was so impressed I turn around and bought another 3 units. Just the fact that I can stream music to the speakers and not have to rely on the iphone that alone sold me on this set of speakers. Add to all that the price and you can't go wrong. I would highly recommend this device.

would it be possible to add pocketcast? and if not, coul you open podcasts on pocketcast and listen on heos?

Asked by: punteruolorosso
HEOS supports some different music services in different countries, but Pocketcast is not one that I have heard we're adding support for. However, the speaker does support Bluetooth. Pair your phone with the speaker using Bluetooth to play directly from the Pocketcast app.

I have the AVR-S730H and 6 wired speakers(Right and left front and surround speakers, center speaker and subwoofer) along with two HEOS 1 speakers, what do I need to connect the HEOS 1 speakers to my AVR?

Asked by: marshallfair
Hello. To group your HEOS speakers with the AVR-S730H, you will first need the HEOS App, and to have the speakers connected to your network. In the HEOS app, first select the AVR-S730H and then pinch the rooms together to create a group. You can also group the rooms by pressing and holding on one of the speakers, and dragging it into the group. If the intent is to group your HEOS 1 speakers for TV playback, you will need to first enable TV Sound Grouping in the HEOS App under Settings > My Devices > AVR-S730H > TV Sound Grouping. If the audio being played is a surround format, it will downmix to stereo for playback on the grouped HEOS speakers. The HEOS speakers cannot be used as discrete surround channels.

Does the HEOS 1 support volume limit control? And, does it support password protecting a playlist? I want to use this in my store, and I want to limit the volume the employees can raise the level to and the range of music they can pick from.

Asked by: giyad
Thanks for your question. There is no volume limit setting for the HEOS 1, and no password protection for playlists. If a mobile device is connected to the same network as the speaker, and has the HEOS app, it will have full control.

I have a HEOS Link connected to my stereo. Can I add a HEOS 1 (or other HEOS wireless speaker) and have it be part of the same HEOS environment as my Link?

Asked by: JiveDonut
Hello. Yes, you can add the HEOS 1 to the same network as the HEOS Link and control both using the HEOS app. The two units can be grouped to play together, or played separately.

Which is the depth of the threaded hole (for wall/stand mounting)? I have to find the right screws (length) for a support... Thanks in advance! Regards

Asked by: Richard
Hi Richard. I just measured the depth at 11mm. I would say a 10mm screw should do the job.

Hello, are there any options to connect a subwoofer to these speakers? How about Google Play Music, is this useable with Heos 1? Thanks, Peter

Asked by: Subwoofer Lover
If you buy the HEOS by Denon Soundbar you will have the Subwoofer that you need to work it out.

Will denon receivers work with Samsung ra c isn't 360 wireless speakers?

Asked by: Invisibob
A Denon Receiver is best used with the HEOS environment. You could use a HEOS link to connect your Denon Receiver to the HEOS speakers to achieve playback.
