I currently have a large iTunes library and use Request to sync playlists and access my entire music library.  Making the change to Heos and want to know how / if I am able to access my Mac that stores all my music so I can play in any zones?

Asked by: RobertaMoll
HEOS can access your iTunes library if you use a DLNA media server to share the library over your network. You can use Plex, Jriver, Twonky, or others. Request is not one that I'm familiar with, but if that also supports DLNA it should work. We also just added a feature called "Network Shares" which can access your library even without using a DLNA server. To use this, there MUST be a HEOS HS2 product on your network. If you're looking at the HEOS Drive, an HS2 version was just released this week and should be available. Although Network Shares requires an HS2 unit to be on the network, once it's set up any HS1 devices on the network will have the same access to the shared network folders. Please see the FAQ below for detailed instructions on setting up Network Shares. It's a more advanced feature that requires a little bit of digging into your computer's settings. http://denon.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4752

I have 3 drive amps controlled by c4. Is it possible to connect a subwoofer across different zones e.g. so if spotify playing in kitchen zone sub will run add lounge zone same source sub will run and vice versa?

Asked by: John NZ
Hi John. The subwoofer terminals are tied to their designated zone on the HEOS Drive. It's not possible to have one subwoofer play with multiple zones, unless of course the zones are all grouped.

How would I attach my PC to a HEOS, so I would have different music playing in each zone? Also what kind of connectors and software would I need.

Asked by: Shane 1331
You can connect your PC using the analog Line In, or Digital audio input on the HEOS Drive. This is only one audio signal from your computer though, and you will only be able to play one source from your computer at a time. Using the HEOS app on your phone or tablet you can select other audio sources to play in each zone.

When i connect the output audio of a smart TV to the Drive, there is significant delay between the TV video and the audio coming out of the Drive HEOS Speakers. Is there a way to solve this ?

Asked by: Atlas360
To solve this, don't group the zones of the drive. When the zones are grouped, the audio is shared with the group over the network, which introduces a delay. If the zones are not grouped, set each zone separately to the audio input from the TV. To do this, select a zone from the Rooms tab, then go to the Music tab, select Inputs, and choose the input from the TV. Do the same for each separate zone in the Rooms tab. Since the TV is connected directly to the HEOS Drive it can play with no delay. This only works with the Drive that the TV is connected to directly. Other HEOS Drives or speakers will be accessing the audio stream over the network, so there will be a delay.

Can I hook an FM radio to the HEOS Drive to play local radio stations?

Asked by: DonnaL
Hello. The HEOS Drive has several analog inputs which can be used to connect external audio devices. If you have a FM tuner which can output audio through analog (red and white) audio outputs, then you can connect it to the HEOS Drive.

Hello, If I buy 3 Heos drives for 12 zones. 1.- Can I group them together? 2.- Will the same up will run the 12 zones? 3.- Do I have to connect them together to integrate? 4.- Can I play music out of my music library on my phone?

Asked by: Franco
Hi Franco. If you have 3 HEOS drives, you can group all 12 zones together, or play independently. They don't need to be physically connected together, but do need to all be connected on the same network. You will be able to play music stored on your phone, network attached storage, and the various supported streaming services.

Any possible solution to stream YouTube audio directly to a Heos Drive? Is Chromecast Audio an option perhaps?

Asked by: AThomas
Chromecast Audio worked perfectly! I used the optical connection and it sounds great, having the flexibility to stream (cast) straight from my browser tab is wonderful!
